Description

... when I saw you dancing by the river."

Finn had been stargazing one night when he saw a light in the distance. It definitely wasn't a star: it was moving, cutting across the dark canvas of the night-induced landscape like a fiery shooting star. Finn, insanely curious, ran out of his treehouse, leaving Jake snoring in his cupboard bed.

Finn followed the trail but whatever it was, it kept flickering in and out of his vision. It moved behind trees, behind tall blades of grass, behind the crest of hills. Finn climbed one particular hill and looked down, certain he'd be able to see the creature from this height.

What he saw immediately took his breath away, more effectively than a punch to his stomach. He immediately started to descend the hill, wanting to get closer even though he made no conscious thought of doing so. He stopped behind a barrier of bushes because he could go no further, and watched.

She danced there, by the other side of the river, spinning and twirling and making her arms move like the whisper of wind. She was bright--brighter than any star, any moon, any comet; she could rival the sun, but oh, isn't she brighter than even the sun if she could come alive in the night? Her reflection in the water followed her every move, flickering as the surface of the water glowed in her light. The tall grass danced against her--the grass must have been moist, layered with dew--but not an ounce of pain was shown on her face. Nothing seemed to be powerful enough to take away her joy and indeed, it would have been sinful for something to take away that smile.

Finn couldn't move. Didn't even think of moving. There was something inside him telling him that this was wrong--that he shouldn't be spying on her in her most intimate moment, shouldn't be bearing witness to her secret joy. But he couldn't look away. Her dance was beautiful--wild, uncontrolled, gentle.

She was beautiful.

Brighter than the moon. Brighter than the stars.

To Finn, she was brighter than the sun.

As promised, Finn accidentally witnessing Flame Princess dancing beneath the moonlight! :la: fdklfdsbl The feels. the feeeeelssss :iconlazycryplz:

Finn, you creepy stalker you. :iconohoho-plz:

I figured that since the tall grass was moist (due to it being night time and her being by the river), it wouldn't be set alight by FP dancing in it. Instead, I think it'd just sting FP a little (like she was dancing on rough rocks) but nothing major. And there's reeds. REEDS! They're so awesome

I wanted Finn to see FP dancing with her normal gown. I figured it'd be hard for FP to dance in such a long gown :stare: So she tied the flappy things into a knot behind her back, and then just picks up the rest of her dress when she wants to make any big leaps etc. YAY! Problem-solving!! :iconladanceplz:

This was fun. Isn't it weird that the moment I write a journal saying I'll be away, I draw all this stuff? I swear I'm not trying to be contradictory/confusing :iconcryforeverplz:

Hope you like it!! :iconlachoirplz:
